Why I love scrapbooking

Hello All! I haven't posted anything since July 2016. Haven't done much crafting either. Last time I posted I briefly explained some personal details of my life regarding my father. Sadly, my father's battle with cancer was lost on September 18, 2016 at 5:55 A.M EST.

I have spent the last 5 months memorizing every last moment with my dad. Every word, every action, every conversation, every holiday.....everything. I have gone through picture after picture of his entire life - from birth till death. The picture below is the one picture that I kept coming back to. It was taken shortly after the birth of my daughter in March of 1996. My daughter was his first grandchild and only granddaughter. I am very thankful this moment between them was captured in a picture. It's moments like this that I never want to forget.

This brings me to the reason for my posting. Life is beautiful. Every moment, every event, every part of life is beautiful and amazing. Sometimes the only way to remember those beautiful moments in life is by taking a picture. I had completely forgotten about this picture until I came upon it in my dads belongings. Had I not come upon it, I may have never remembered this special event.

I believe this is the very reason why I started making scrapbooks - to take everyday moments captured on film and display them in a beautiful handmade scrapbook for everyone to see.

I miss you Dad, every single day.
RIP - Karl Richard Emery,  January 18, 1960 - September 18, 2016.
